Optimization of a Battery Storage System with 2.5 GWh Capacity in Bulgaria

Together with Electrohold Trade, we are implementing a co-location project with over 2.5 GWh of battery storage capacity – one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Starting in Q4 2025, we will take over the commercial marketing of the capacities on the energy markets. The project demonstrates how scalable storage solutions can become a cornerstone of a sustainable and economically viable energy infrastructure.

A 48 MWh container-based large-scale storage system made from new vehicle batteries in Grevesmühlen combines economic efficiency with resource-conserving circular economy. Our many years of commercialization experience, along with our self-developed algorithms, ensure minimal battery degradation while maximizing profitability.

Electric Cars Power Amsterdam Stadium

Since 2018, together with integrator EATON, we have been replacing diesel generators with a 3 MW battery system powered by 148 second-life batteries from Nissan Leaf vehicles, while also enhancing grid stability across Europe. With a capacity of 2.8 MWh, the system stores energy from 4,200 solar panels and serves as an emergency power supply during major events, including football matches and concerts. In the meantime, the batteries are marketed on the energy markets.

Large-Scale Storage in Co-Location with Solar Plant

In collaboration with the IFES Institute for Energy Storage, under the direction of renowned Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Sterner, the project represents a leap forward in storage technology: Two Fenecon Industrial L storage systems in co-location with a solar plant near Regensburg. The flexibility of the storage system is made available to short-term and balancing power markets.

Solar Meets Storage: Co-Location in Baden-Württemberg

In cooperation with Brandstätter Solarpark GmbH & Co. KG and Fenecon, a 10 MWp solar park has been supplemented with a 14 MWh storage system. The Mobility House Energy profitably commercializes the capacities on the energy markets.
This project demonstrates how intelligent storage integration can future-proof existing PV systems – all realized in less than a year from concept to commissioning.
