A new co-location project by The Mobility House Energy as marketer, Fenecon as system supplier and Brandstätter Solarpark GmbH & Co. KG as the operator demonstrates the potential of combined photovoltaic and storage solutions on an industrial scale. This year, a high-performance battery storage system with a capacity of 14 MWh and an output of 8 MW will be installed at the site of an existing 10 MWp solar park in Neresheim (Baden-Württemberg).
Brandstätter, Fenecon and The Mobility House Energy rely on co-location
The project impressively demonstrates how intelligent coupling of photovoltaics and storage solutions can get the most out of existing grid connection points - a key issue for the future of energy in German-speaking countries.
"We became aware of Christoph Brandstätter's project through our long-standing partner Fenecon and are delighted to be able to make a real contribution as a marketer to the optimal use of the grid connection point. This project is part of a whole series of similar projects that are currently in the pipeline."

Fast project timeline and seamless transition from sales to project management
The collaboration went smoothly and on an equal footing. “The support and advice on the sales side, the precise and well-founded simulations and the seamless transition from sales to project management were real added value for me,” says Christoph Brandstätter.
The decision to purchase the storage system was made in January 2025 and commissioning is scheduled for July 2025 - one year after the initial contact. This short project cycle underlines the high process and implementation efficiency of all partners involved in a complex regulatory and technical environment.
Solar meets storage - maximum grid utilization at the site
The battery storage system consists of eleven Fenecon Industrial L systems, each with an output of 736 kW and a capacity of 1,288 kWh. With a grid connection dimensioning of 8.096 MW for feed-in and 4.5 MW for draw-off, there is a particular focus on grid-friendly and efficient operation. The transmission system operator is TransnetBW.
The project underlines the growing importance of co-location solutions for efficient grid utilization and shows how existing PV infrastructures can be made future-proof through intelligent storage integration.
