The two new offerings MB.CHARGE Home Dynamic and MB.CHARGE Home Intelligent make home charging even more convenient, efficient and cost-effective. For many plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle drivers, their own parking space is their main charging location. Both solutions help optimise energy costs and intelligently adapt charging to individual energy needs. By intelligently connecting the vehicle and a compatible wallbox, charging is automatically scheduled for periods when electricity is particularly affordable and a high share of renewable energy is expected in the grid.
MB.CHARGE Home Dynamic optimises charging based on day-ahead electricity market prices. Customers simply set their departure time and target charge level in the Mercedes-Benz App. The service is not tied to a particular energy supplier, and there is no need to switch tariffs. The system automatically schedules charging for the most cost-effective periods. Customers who already have a dynamic electricity tariff with their energy supplier can benefit from low market prices and reduce their electricity costs.
MB.CHARGE Home Intelligent is an integrated energy solution that comes with a matching electricity tariff: the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Eco Tarif from The Mobility House Energy. Customers receive a fixed-rate electricity tariff and additional bonus payments for taking part in smart charging. Charging is intelligently planned and shifted to suitable times. Customers simply enter their departure time and target charge level in the Mercedes-Benz App. An algorithm ensures the vehicle is charged on time, prioritising periods when low-cost renewable electricity is plentiful. Customers earn bonus points with each smart charging session and can view them in the app. Each kilowatt-hour charged currently earns a reward of 10 cents. Accumulated bonus points are automatically credited to the monthly electricity bill, helping to reduce energy costs.
The first 1,000 customers to sign up for MB.CHARGE Home Intelligent will also receive EUR 80 in charging credit for public charging with MB.CHARGE Public.
MB.CHARGE Home Dynamic can be used directly in the Mercedes-Benz App. Customers can benefit from lower-cost charging periods, particularly if they already have a dynamic electricity tariff with their energy supplier. MB.CHARGE Home Intelligent combines smart charging with the matching Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Eco Tarif from The Mobility House Energy. Once customers have switched to this tariff, the service is available in the Mercedes-Benz App.
MB.CHARGE Home Dynamic and MB.CHARGE Home Intelligent are tailored to the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz vehicles for a seamless and convenient charging experience. The offerings are initially available for selected Mercedes-Benz models in Germany. These include plug-in hybrid vehicles based on Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) 0.7 or later, including the latest generations of the S-Class, GLE and C-Class. Supported all-electric models include the updated EQS, CLA, CLA Shooting Brake, GLB, GLA, GLC, VLE, C-Class and Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé. This means many customers can already enjoy the benefits of smart home charging. Further Mercedes-Benz models will be added over time.
